Many of you know my Dad is a physician.  When I was little and I’d get sick he would tell me the same thing every time:  Eat well, sleep well, get a little sun.  Sometimes he’d also recite a little poem to me called The Best Six Doctors by Wayne Fields.

Since it’s so easy to forget the little things that make a big difference during the busy holiday season I thought it was a good idea to share this poem as a simple reminder.

The Best Six Doctors

The best six doctors anywhere and no one can deny it

Are sunshine, water, rest and air,

Exercise and diet

These six will gladly you attend,

If only you are willing

Your mind they’ll ease,

Your will they’ll mend

And charge you not a shilling.

I’m smiling to myself as I type this.  How hard do I make taking care of my health, both mental and physical?!  This simple poem reminds me how God blesses all of us if we take time to slow down and do the simple things.

Remember to take care of your health during this busy time of the year!
